What's CantiLever all About?

Q.) What's the purpose of the canti-lever and is it really needed in my situation. Do the bags have to be welded on or are they bolt on as well?

A.) When the bags ride on a 4-Link bar its called a Lever 4-Link because instead of operating straight up and down, the bag is lifting in a lever motion, thus in some cases doubling the amount of lift a bag is capable of. If the bag were to be mounted on top of the axle (weld-on kit), you average 6-7" of lift. Which would be fine, except after 4" the 5th" and sixth" are going to create a very harsh ride, do to the fact the bags are maxed out and harder at a higher psi. On the other hand, a lever system allowing 12"s-14"s of lift will ride perfectly at 6" of lift because your only using half the bags ability to lift this means a softer ride. Some say it rides like stock. The air bags bolt on. In no situation should you ever weld on any airbag. Maybe the bag brackets but never the bag itself.
